Outdoor Photography magazine, in association with outdoor equipment experts Fjällräven, is delighted to announce that its competition to find the next Outdoor Photographer of the Year is now open.

Following the success of last year’s competition, we have once again teamed up with Fjällräven to offer the prize of a lifetime: the overall winner will be off to the Arctic on the Fjällräven Polar dog sled expedition in spring 2016! All adult category winners will receive a superb Fjällräven Kaipak 28 backpack and £200 cash.

This year, for the first time, we will also be producing a beautiful photography book of the winning, commended and selected other entries from the 2015 competition.

Open to amateur and professional photographers from around the world, the competition covers all genres of outdoor photography – from landscape and adventure to wildlife and the underwater world – and this year we have added a brand new category devoted to seeking out images that capture the spirit of travel. There is also a free-to-enter category for photographers aged 18 or under.

The fee to enter each of the eight adult categories is £8, and photographers can submit up to eight images per category.

We have put together a panel of very experienced judges from a range of outdoor photography genres, including fine-art landscape specialists Pete Bridgwood and David Baker, adventure expert Pete Webb, wildlife filmmaker and photojournalist Andy Luck, nature photographer and writer Tracy Hallett, and Steve Watkins, editor of Outdoor Photography. We will also be welcoming a new judge on board: renowned wildlife photographer Andy Parkinson.

All the winning images will be exhibited at the Telegraph Outdoor Adventure & Travel Show at ExCel, London (11-14 February 2016), and the overall winner will be announced live at the show on the Outdoor Photography PhotoBox stage on Saturday 13 February 2016.
Closing date for entries: Midnight GMT on Monday 2 November 2015.
