Stirling Falls Detail f/8, 1/800 sec, ISO 800, Canon R5, Canon RF 24-105 @ 70mm One of the great things you get to do in Milford Sound is to get right in under the Stirling Falls by boat. Fortunately, the water is a good three hundred meters deep at this point, making boat access easy. The difficulty for photography is the spray generated from the water plunging into the fiord, which covers the lens in seconds. I made this shot just as the boat was backing out, which reduced the amount of spray hitting the lens, making it a little easier to get a clean shot. I also chose to use a fast shutter speed to freeze the movement. more
