
Fjaðrárgljúfur is a canyon in southeastern Iceland that experienced a huge tourism boom after Justin Bieber filmed a music video at the location. It is common to see people standing at the lip of the canyon, showing the vast landscape in front of them. Unfortunately, these “epic” photos have become so common at many Icelandic spots, with photo enthusiasts trampling plant life and damaging the sites, that the popular view points have been roped off. This is both for people’s safety, and to give the land an opportunity to recover.
